All CIAC Fall Sport Plans are fluid and can change day by day. We appreciate your flexibility to pivot and your understanding during these unprecedented times. 
  • Football practices start August 17th - please reach out to Coach Morello ( for specific questions pertaining to practices/try-outs.
  • All other Fall sports start on August 27th - Please reach out to individual coaches for specific questions pertaining to practices/try-outs. Coaches contact info can be found by clicking on the Fall Sports Link on the left side of this page. 
Once schedules are finalized by the CCC Athletic Directors, I will make them available to Coaches and they will be uploaded onto the CIAC website for public viewing. Please remember in order to participate in a Fall sport you must do the following:
  • Middletown BOE MHS Athletics 2020 Out of Season Conditioning Waiver Form (link below)
  • Middletown Public Schools Athletic Department Participation Waiver for Communicable Diseases Including COVID-19 (link below)
  • Register on Family ID (information below)
  • Have an updated Impact Test (testing dates below by sport)
  • Have an updated Physical (information below, please reach out to your coach or our nurses if you have any questions with physicals)

All students interested in participating in a 2020 MHS Fall Athletic Sports Program, Family ID is now open for registrations.

Please register if you are interested in trying out in a 2020 Fall Sport.

    All incoming 9th graders will need an Impact Test before participating in any sport. Upperclassman, please check with your coaches if you do not know if you need an impact test.

    • August 11 & 12: 1-2 pm: Football & Dance
    • August 13: 1-2 pm: Boys/Girls Cross Country & Cheerleading
    • August 18: 1-2 pm: Girls Swim/Dive & Volleyball
    • August 19: 1-2 pm: Boys/Girls Soccer
    • August 31: 2:30-3:30 pm: Crew & Make-ups
    • September 1: 2:30-3:30 pm: Crew & Make-ups

    All testing is done in room 113 & 115

    **Under the current circumstances, these impact testing dates and times might change. We appreciate your flexibility during these unprecedented times

    * Impact testing is MANDATORY before participating in a sport and for freshmen, newcomers, transfers, and those with expired baselines (good for 2 years).

"Season Kick-Off" is mandatory for all student-athletes interested in participating in a Sport (incoming freshmen, and upper classroom) and should be present with a parent/guardian.

SPORTS PHYSICALS are being offered through the School-Based Health Center.

No walk-ins will be accepted.

The School-Based Health Center at MHS  will open the week of TBD:

To schedule an appointment for a physical exam
on or after TBD call 860-704-4590 to leave a message, and a  coordinator will return your call to schedule the appointment. 

**FALL Season Physicals:The CIAC has extended the expiration of Physicals by 2 months just for the Fall 2020 sports season because of the pandemic. The physical date must be dated on or after July 1, 2019,  in order to be accepted for clearance by the School Nurse.

"For the Fall 2020 Sports Season, we are accepting physicals that expire during the season. Please understand that this is an exception for this season only due to the unprecedented times that we are in."

We highly recommend that all MHS Student-Athletes sign-up to receive services from the SBHC.
