Head Athletic Trainer

Heather Wenninger, MS, ATC, LAT

Heather is a Western Massachusetts native who graduated from Westfield State University with a bachelors degree in Sports Medicine in 2006. While at Westfield State she was an accomplished runner who ranked All New England all four years in cross country; as well as ranking 6th in All New England’s in the 10k. She then went on to continue furthering her education at Plymouth State University where she graduated in 2009 with a Master’s degree in athletic training.

Currently, Heather works for Orthopedic Associates of Middletown as a physician extender and has been working as the athletic trainer for M.H.S. since 2010. Prior, she has had the opportunity to work alongside other medical staff for the Boston Marathon and the 2012 (Post Olympic) Kellogg’s Tour of Gymnastics. Furthermore, she worked with Dartfish analysis software where she targeted runners and tri-athletes in the Hartford area analyzing gait mechanics and providing qualitative and quantitative measurements.
