FFA Scholarships Due February 1, 2017!

Last year, 1 out of every 4 students who applied for a National FFA Scholarship was awarded a scholarship. With more than $2 million in scholarships available this year, your child's future is looking brighter than ever! Visit http://www.ffa.org/ or email scholarships@ffa.org for details about the scholarship program. The deadlines for many other scholarships are in February as well. Contact the Career Center for information on other scholarships.

September 9, 2016 Answer Question on Google Classroom or Email your answer to isaacsonr@mpsct.org. Question: What is your biggest challenge for writing this research paper? Selecting your topic, finding resources, correctly citing resources, meeting deadlines, completing the graphic organizer, writing the draft, revising the paper, or self-assessing.

September 16, 2016 Topics & Resources due. Using the Google form, select a topic and provide citations for your resources. October 21, 2016  Best Draft & Self Assessment due.

Submit the self assessment and the typed paper including parenthetical citations and works cited page. If not turned in on time, five (5) points will be deducted from the final paper. The best draft MUST be turned in.

November 16, 2016 Final Paper & Self Assessment Due Revise & submit best draft. Assess your paper and submit the rubric. Must meet length, format, and citation requirements. Five (5) points will be deducted per school day, up to thirty (30) points can be deducted, if not turned in on time. Upload your best draft to Classroom

September 16, 2016 ADVANCED & AG II Topics & Resources Due. Using the Google form, select one topic from the provided current issues and list citations for resources in APA format. Teachers have posted resources on Google Classroom that students should use. You will need to find additional resources as well. A topic will be assigned to you if you have not selected one.

September 28, 2016 Ag II  Graphic Organizer Due Format will be provided in leadership class and Google Classroom.

September 28, 2016 ADVANCED CLASS Outline/Resources Due. Submit an outline by following the Agricultural Speech Manuscript Outline. You must include resources using APA citation format.

October 21, 2016 Advanced & AG II Best Draft & Self Assessment Due Expectations for your BEST DRAFT is that this is what you would submit for your FINAL GRADE. It must be TYPED and CITED and have a WORKS CITED page; your very best effort! You also must complete and turn in the first page of the attached SPEECH RUBRIC and give yourself an estimated "grade." (Not to count). Submit by uploading directly into Classroom.

November 16, 2016 Ag II Final Paper & Self Assessment Due. Revise & submit best draft. Assess your paper and submit the rubric. Must meet length, format, and citation requirements. Five (5) points will be deducted per school day, up to thirty (30) points can be deducted, if not turned in on time.

November 16, 2016 ADVANCED CLASS Final Manuscript & Self Assessment The speech should be edited and revised. Teacher comments and suggestions should have been incorporated into your revised manuscript. The manuscript must be as perfect as possible. Upload the final copy to Classroom by selecting "Add". Then upload your document, and click "SUBMIT". Also, please self-assess and upload the attached Rubric. A schedule for speech presentations will be announced. Five (5) points will be deducted from the quarter grade if not turned in on due date. Up to thirty (30) points can be deducted from the grade of the paper due to lateness (five point deduction per school day). 

 

December ADVANCED CLASS - Speech Presentations begin The speeches are presented in class. A student's oral presentation and written presentation are averaged for a grade. Students who are absent must present his/her speech upon returning to school.

A modified research project is provided for students who require modifications. The deadline dates are the same.
