As required by Sections 43 and 44 of CT Public Act 23-167, state law requires boards of education, beginning January 1, 2024, to provide for uniform indoor air quality inspections and evaluations of all school buildings annually using the Environmental Protection Agency’s Indoor Air Quality Tools for Schools Program. Current law also requires boards of education to conduct HVAC inspections and evaluations by a certified technician, certified industrial hygienist, or mechanical engineer within each school building every five years, by January 2025.
