Middletown Regional Agriculture Science & Technology Center

Activities & Events

The Ag Program and Mattabeset FFA Chapter have many informational and recreational events throughout the year. This page highlights two of the best ways for learning about our program: the Fall & Spring Open House Events.

VIRTUAL OPEN HOUSE - for prospective students

Please, take our Virtual Tour!

The Open House is designed for prospective agriculture students and their adults.  See the facilities, meet the staff, and hear from students. Those hoping to attend Agricultural Science next year should attend this event. Please, call the center if you are unable to attend or wish to arrange a personal orientation & tour. Call for details (860) 704-4594.

OPEN HOUSE - for all

VIRTUAL TOUR & OPEN HOUSE! Each Spring Ag Students are asked to study an agricultural area of interest and create a presentation for our annual Open House. Typically students create posters and elaborate displays as our guests walk through the building learning about Agriculture. This year we challenged students to do a virtual presentation.  We invite you to open the virtual presentations. When you are done please, vote for your favorites & comment! A voting link can be found in the Middletown Agricultural Science & Technology Center at MHS VIRTUAL TOUR & OPEN HOUSE voting will close at noon on May 5, 2021.

The annual Open House will be held at the Agriculture Center in April, typically the week before Spring Recess. School field trips are welcome during the day program. The public is invited to attend this free event in the evening. Students who are interested in taking Agriculture are encouraged to attend. The program is still accepting applications for enrollment.

The purpose of the Open House is to showcase the Agriculture Science & Technology Center through displays, demonstrations and hands-on activities, highlighting the key curriculum areas of plant science, animal science, agricultural mechanics, and natural resources. The Open House will highlight opportunities in agricultural education. For more information on the Open House or to reserve a time for your group to attend, call (860) 704-4594.
