What is Agricultural Science & Technology?

Agriculture Science & Technology consists of instruction, supervised agricultural experience, and leadership development through the FFA http://www.ffa.org/.

Discover the opportunities in agriculture at the Middletown High School Regional Agricultural Science and Technology Center. Middletown Agricultural Education is available to students from Chester, Clinton, Cromwell, Deep River, Durham, East Hampton, Essex, Guilford, Haddam, Killingworth, Madison, Middlefield, Middletown, Portland, Old Saybrook, Rocky Hill, and Westbrook. 

The mission of the Agriculture Program is to provide instruction leading to a career in agriculture upon completion of high school or to prepare students for entrance into a two or four year college.

FALL OPEN HOUSE for potential students is November 15, 2023 at 6:30 PM at the ASTE Center.

SPRING OPEN HOUSE  Each Spring Ag Students are asked to study an agricultural area of interest and create a presentation for our annual Open House. Students create posters and elaborate displays as our guests walk through the building learning about Agriculture. The public is welcome to attend in the evening. School Groups are invited to plan a field trip during the school day. Call the Ag Center for details!

Helpful Information

Cost & Transportation
In accordance with state statutes, cost of tuition and travel from communities served by the Vocational Agriculture Center is paid by the local education agency. There is no tuition or transportation cost to the student.

Faculty
The Agriculture Program is one class with four teachers. Faculty instructs all students in leadership, agricultural business, and supervised agricultural experience. Faculty members also teach specific areas of agriculture.
